And the base keeps runnin and runnin and runnin and runnin....

Less is More Heels

Another busy day - a little bit of this, a little bit of that - kinda like these shoes.  Just a mish-mosh of various things all slapped together to make up my day.

Was up early this morning - even though the sun wasn't shining, my boys were up and they are not quiet creatures.  Started my morning by checking emails and responding accordingly.

Spent a few hours this morning working on a special project for work and getting that off my plate.  Also answered emails there and handled a few other mini fire drills.  After all that was done - it was time to jump in the shower finally.

Out of the shower and feeling refreshed.  Time to run a few errands.  Went to Agway to pick up the special feed we will need for the chicks hatching next week.  Also picked up another incubator, which will make next week a lot easier and also allows me to keep the later additions to the primary incubator going on the rack and undisturbed.  Then ran to the grocery store - picked up some ingredients for my evening project with my daughter and also a few things for the husband.  Stopped put gas in my car.

Then on the way back home my husband asked me to stop at a place and pick some seafood.  Had a hard time finding the place as it was tucked back in the midst of some other little shops.  Picked up a dozen crabcakes, some cream of crab soup and some snapper soup (the snapper soup was really what he wanted).  The people at the store were really nice and it made spending the $100 a lot easier.  Oh, and I also bought some broccoli salad (love that stuff - all though my stomach digesting raw broccoli isn't presently happy).  Came home and cooked everything up.

The crab cakes were delicious - everyone agreed.  Husband and son were happy with the snapper soup - and the daughter seemed to like the cream of crab soup.  As for the broccoli salad - that was mine, I did not share - it was mine, don't touch it.

Then after dinner, my daughter and I made some homemade syrups.  We made three flavors tonight - Almond, Apple and Cinnamon.  The Cinnamon smelled amazing and my daughter was pleading with me to make pancakes or french toast or something now so she could eat it.  The Apple smells just like warm apple cider or an apple pie - this would be awesome in the fall.  Going to continue to find some other flavors - including some made from homemade fruit syrups - that one might have to wait until our blueberries and raspberries grow.  I had ordered some syrup bottles - so I can start bottling the syrup we are making and selling it to people I know.  I know it sounds lame, but it was cool making it, funneling it into the bottles, screwing the lids on and then applying the shrink wrap seals.  I also ordered some special labels that I can create and print on my computer for my canned/bottled goods - so looking forward to those showing up as well.  (I know, lame, but it's the little things that bring me pleasure).

Have the laundry going and now just chilling on the couch for a bit.  So today was filled with a mixture of a lot of little things - but it was definitely more manageable and I didn't feel rushed in anything I had to accomplish.  It will feel good going to sleep tonight peaceful or at least a little less stressed.

If more people realized how amazing the little things are, people would appreciate and enjoy life so much more. Just sayin
