Troll Doll Heels
These shoes crack me up. They remind me of a troll doll. Anyhow, temporarily distracted there over silly shoes.
Took my daughter to the doctor today - she has bronchitis. Fun. She rested most of the day until late this afternoon when she had a migraine as well and we had to wait for the Advil to kick in before she would stop crying about how bad her head hurt. Pain has subsided - she is now sitting on the other couch playing some crazy card game with her dad and they are slapping cards and carrying on - it's very entertaining.
I worked from home and also experimented in the kitchen a little today in making some nutritionally friendly meals. They both turned out yummy. The first was a Sweet Potato and Salmon Quiche - I think next time though instead of salmon I will use shrimp or maybe crabmeat. I am not a huge salmon person - it's a little strong for me, but it was delicious nonetheless. The other experiment was Breakfast Egg Rolls - egg whites, ground turkey, spices, mushrooms, spinach - that was very yummy.
I like to cook - when the mood strikes. I like trying new things - even if it's just that I am cooking the new things and the family is eating them. Last year we did a lot of firsts in cooking - and canning - it was a lot of fun. What was more fun was hearing my brave taste testers say how much they enjoyed the concoctions. I need to start planning our garden for this year - make sure that we have plenty of plants of the items we used most. I also want to make sure I plant some herbs this year too - we usually don't do that, but I at least want to plant some fresh dill - since we used that a lot when making pickles and pickled green tomatoes.
Cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, LOTS of hot peppers, peas, green beans...yum, yum, yummy!! Also thinking about trying to garlic this year - which from what I read seems pretty simple. We used so much of it last year in pickling - it's worth a shot. Oh, and we are going to plant blueberry and raspberry bushes along the front walkway.
Completely ready for the warm weather like right now...get the garden going and enjoy spending my Sundays canning :)
