The P is silent...

Purple Heels with a Pink Rose

So this is actually my post for yesterday, just a day late...that's what happens when you make the mistake of coming home from a long day and decide to lay down on the couch for just a few minutes.  Those few minutes turned into me falling asleep for the night.

Yesterday was a good day.  The morning flew by.  Had some computer malfunctions at the dojo, but got those fixed.  Made lots of phone calls.  It was while I was making these phone calls that I answered a call that had come into the school.  The Caller ID said the call was coming from Danbury, CT.  I answered the phone in my normal manner but had a sense immediately that I was dealing with a prank caller.  The man on the other end of the line was pissed off, yelling at me to put Sensei on the phone - that he had just had his child in there the other week and he came home with bruises and scratches.  I did my best to address the call, however he wasn't interested in speaking with me.  Unfortunately, Sensei wasn't at the school so I had to ask Joshu to take the call.  The details of the caller's story began to change and ultimately the call ended by Joshu hanging up on him.  A few moments later, the phone rang again - this time I jotted down the phone number - and then proceeded to listen to the man tell me that Sensei is a slacker, he started getting mouthy and I informed him that he could provide me with his name and phone number or I was going to end the call.  It was at this time that my good friend, who was there to cover for me for the day, decided to call him back.  The conversation between the two of them was quite comical.  It was at this time that I heard my friend say "Did you just say Marine Corpse?  You do know that the P is silent, don't you?".  It was hysterical.  Now apparently he called back again after I left and was talking to my friend about Bin Laden's murder, to which my friend informed the caller that Ninjas had in fact killed Bin Laden.

My afternoon was spent in the company of family, including my Great Aunt and Great Uncle and a gaggle of cousins - including some of the younger generations own children.  I enjoyed watching the little ones run around - they were extremely entertaining.  It was also nice to just sit and chat with my cousins.  I miss being around them and spending time together.  My boys were gone - up in the mountains enjoying some time together fishing and shooting.  They came home very early this morning and then crashed.  Now the hubby and the daughter are off on a shopping excursion and I am finally taking a minute to sit and chill.

Don't forget the P is silent...
