Creativity and HMMMing

Rose Heels

So my mind has been brainstorming all day.  Brainstorming on possible career ventures - even spent a little time in the car with my daughter this afternoon brainstorming with her as well.  Even did a little research online this afternoon before heading out for the day.

Did some research on the beginnings of getting educated about selling homemade items - my jellies and jams, pickles, mustards, syrups, spaghetti sauce, etc.  Good bit of regulations involved if you go big time - which don't get me wrong, I think that's a good idea from a food safety standpoint.  We gave everything away last year that we made.  Thinking maybe this year of putting together a list of items we make - take orders - and charge for them.  Especially considering we did not get a lot of the jars back last year and those things are not cheap at all.  Thought about in addition to the canning - possibly some baking kinda things.  There are lots of paths I could take there.

Another idea I was thinking about while driving to pick up my daughter was actually an idea I had years ago when my son was younger.  Each year we would have my son's birthday party and I have always been one to be creative with the gift bags for the kids.  Two of my sons birthdays I was on a mission to find party bag ideas - one was a race car theme and the other a bowling party.  Surprisingly I couldn't find anything I was interested in.  I ended up making these really cool race track gift boxes and then bowling pin pinatas.  It got me thinking back then and again now - what if I used some of my creativity in that way and sold customizable, unique party bags for kids parties.  Prices could vary based upon items selected.

There is also the photography route.  A possibility - but definitely something that I would pursue educating myself on certain aspects of that (like photoshop for touch ups, etc.).  There are some possible options here - just not sure yet if I want to take my creativity there.

My daughter was like - why don't you combine all of those things into a single business?  I don't know - that could be interesting.

Still definitely brainstorming and thinking of possibilities and researching what would be involved.  It's kind of exciting the possibility of changing careers.  It also helped with my excitement this afternoon that I only have about 10 car payments left before my loan is done - one big bill off my list.  I am digging the idea about being able to do something creative and fun - that will give me the luxury to work from home, permit my daughter to continue training the hours she does and just be relaxed.
