Counting Shoes

Been doing lots of counting lately.

Counting cupcakes.
Counting cream puffs.
Counting superman chocolate lollipops.
Counting money.

Counting children on the mat.
Counting number of times I tap my feet while in rhythm.
Counting weight lost.
Counting weight gained.

Counting how many times I have to repeat myself.
Counting how many more mistakes can my co-workers make.
Counting how many times can we annoy the client.
Counting how many hours I spend in a day working - to justify another headcount.

But there is one type of counting which I absolutely love doing right now.  And that would be the countdown until Ninja NOLA 2011.  It's almost here and I can hardly contain myself.  Tomorrow when I awake, there will be 9 days left.  9.  I had to go back into my emails and pull up the flight itinerary - and realized that this trip has been booked since 11/11.  That's a magical number.

I am looking forward to a lot of things on this trip.

The ride to the airport.
Chilling and people watching while waiting for our flight.
The plane ride with ninjas - both real and plastic.
Our covert operation to sneak 5 people into a 4 person stay at the hotel.
Walking around NOLA and site seeing.
Eating delicious food.
Drinking delicious adult beverages.
Dancing.
Dancing.
Dancing.
Meeting THE latin men.
Deciding whether to sleep or not.
Eating more delicious food and consuming more adult beverages.
Sleeping on the plane ride home.

But most of all I am looking forward to spending time with my friends in a place which I have never been.  It should be a great time - filled with laughter and lots of memories which I will always treasure.

There are certain things I enjoy counting - the days remaining until this trip, is definitely one of them.

  1. speaking of counting...

How many Latin men does it take to dance with a ninja?

As many as she wants. No more. No less.
