Birthday Shoes
Oh wait, those are candles...59 of them...thought we had a 3 alarm fire on our hands.
Today is my Mom's birthday. Each year I giggle a little hearing my Dad tease her about the fact that they are now the same age, with my Mom's quick rebuttal that it is only for a few months.
59 years. I look at everything that I have encountered in my soon to be 38 years and where it has brought me in my journey through life. The memories which bring a huge smile to my face and those which still make me cry. It makes me wonder how my Mom's journey has helped shape her into the amazing mother and grandmother that she is. I admire her for her strength, compassion, endurance and just everything which makes her, well her. I also can't help but think, when my daughter is almost 32 will she be reflecting on her 59 year old mother and will she have the same admiration for me that I do for my Mom. Oh wait - that means my Mom would be 80! Haha, sorry Mom - but don't worry, Dad will be 81.
Happy Birthday To My Mom!!! Love you more than you could possibly know!
