Kitty Shoes
Looking at these shoes I'm thinking of nine lives - playing with some catnip (and getting stupid while doing it) - pouncing on my prey. But I didn't do any of those things today. Instead today was just a lazy cat kinda day - well sorta. It's not that I didn't accomplish or do anything today - it's more that everything I did was with a relaxed and carefree mindframe.
Today was the kind of day that I have really needed these past few weeks. Do some things around the house - run a few errands - make the family their tacos and macaroni & cheese dinner that the kids wanted - doing positive things and hoping that it allows some of that positive energy to be returned to me as well.
I enjoyed the peacefulness of my day - savoring every moment of it because I know tomorrow when I return to work the chaos is waiting for me. But I will not focus on any of it until I wake up tomorrow and it confronts me. Instead, I will lay here on the couch while the husband is watching another one of his low budget zombie flicks and will giggle at the predictability of the plot. I will listen to my daughter giggling as she torments her father. And I will listen to my son in his room singing the song playing on his iPod.
My mind and spirit are calm. It is a wonderful feeling.
"The ideal of calm exists in a sitting cat"
Jules Reynard
