Purple Boots :)
Coffee. Fireplace. Pajamas.
These are some of my favorite things - and I had them all today. I also had some snow and loss of electricity thrown in there - but something has got to keep me on my toes!
All in all I would say it was not a bad day. I would have been happier had the school closed all together - nothing I can do about it now - but I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are closed tomorrow. Would be really nice to not have to worry about digging out my car first thing tomorrow morning.
Normally when it snows I only need to shovel the sidewalks - the husband plows the driveway when he comes home from plowing the world. Today, I slipped on my snow boots (unfortunately they were not these purple boots, which honestly would be very ineffective in snow - well except for the fact that my feet would look cute) - stepped outside and it really wasn't cold - so when I finished the sidewalk I figured I might as well keep going and get rid of the 5-6 inches of snow that had fallen during the first storm. It was a great workout and I felt accomplished when I was done. Not to mention that the husband will be pleased with my work.
Went and picked up my daughter from school - got home and within a few minutes we lost our power. Ran out and bought candles and picked up some chinese food. After about 4 hours the lights came on - with my daughter running around shouting with joy like a wild woman - it was very comical.
Then came some thunder and lightning - thundersnow is very interesting! Wished it would have lasted longer though. Now we are ready for the massive snow which is supposed to come tonight - and when I say ready I mean that I am inside, pajamas on and fireplace going.
So my day sounds like a boring one - but guess what, I would take a day like today any day of the week. It was a mental break kind of day for me - something which I have needed for the last few weeks. Hoping that tomorrow brings me another day of calm and that it continues to stay that way - hey, a girl can hope can't she?

Sounds like a good day.
