Step 1......Step 2......Step 3

Rose Heels

Planning.

Spent the afternoon planning various things with the husband and kids.  Most of it revolved around things to be done around the house.

What vegetables we were going to plant and grow this year in the garden.

What flowers our daughter wanted to plant on the various walkways.

The bushes our son would plant around the front porch to attract the hummingbirds again this year.

The husband and the son discussing building a greenhouse and also an automated door for the chicken coop that would be on a timer to let the chickens out in the morning and lock them in at night.

One of the many magazines that we took to the hospital for my husband to look through while he is there - was about gardening.  There was an ad in the magazine for the giant tomato tree that would produce 2lb tomatoes.  This immediately peeked my husband's curiosity - so he had me order two plants.  Then we ordered some blueberries, two different kinds of raspberries, some bell peppers and some yellow sugar baby tomatoes.  We are on the path to our garden.  Still need to get garlic, pickles, dill, more tomatoes, hot peppers, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, snap peas - and I am sure I am missing something.

My daughter was talking about wanting to plant tulips.  She was reading in one of her little scholastic magazines from school about how some people in Japan had planted multi-color plant seeds so when they grew it formed a picture.  I think this got her creative juices flowing and she is wanting to do something similar with tulips.  She was talking about planting roses as well - but we talked her out of that since we already have rose bushes down the side of the house.

We spent a good amount of time today coming up with a laundry list of items that we would like to do outside and this year's crops.  It was really nice that we were all just talking - and not about my husband's health.  Kinda like we were sitting at home - except he was in a hospital bed, with my daughter sitting next to him and me and my son sitting in really uncomfortable chairs - but we were together and that's all that mattered.  And it was really nice to just have it be us today and no other visitors.

So some of the items will be delivered to the house of the course of the next few weeks - the remaining items will have to be purchased and then we need to get them in the ground.  For now, it's time to close my eyes and get some sleep - tomorrow is going to be another busy day.
