Lightning Bolt Heels
Waking up this morning to another day with potential thunderstorms. Don't get me wrong, I love closing my eyes and listening to the rain beating on the house, or the thunder rolling - or watching out the window for the lightning strikes. One of my calming memories from when I was younger was sitting out on the porch swing at my parents house and watching the storms pass. I also love to go puddle jumping following a good rain.
I don't care for storms so much though when I gotta get dressed up for work and then trudge through the puddles to get into the office. That part not so much fun.
But, me trudging through puddles does not compare to the devastation that so many families and towns are feeling with the massive amounts of tornadoes which have been sweeping through the states this month. Can't help but wonder - why? Why all of these natural disasters? Earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes...why?
Unfortunately there is no answer at this time - at least not that I am aware of. All I can do is be thankful that I am not having to experience these things first hand - but more importantly praying for those that are.
"Weather is a great metaphor for life - sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, and there's nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella"
